Moong Dal Protein Bites (Healthy Alternative Snack)
Healthy baked snack with ~18g protein per serving. Indian falafel on a budget!
🥘 Ingredients
- 1 cup Split moong dal (yellow lentils), soaked
- 1 Small onion, chopped
- 1 Green chili, chopped (optional)
- 1 tsp Ginger, grated
- 1 tsp Cumin powder
- to taste Salt
- handful Spinach or cilantro, chopped
- 1 tbsp Oil (for brushing)
📝 Instructions
- Soak moong dal for 2 hours, then drain and blend into a coarse paste with onion, chili, ginger, cumin, and salt.
- Mix in chopped greens for extra nutrition.
- Shape into small balls or patties.
- Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20 minutes, brushing with oil halfway, or shallow-fry for crispier results.
- Serve with chutney or as is.
