Moong Dal Protein Bites (Healthy Alternative Snack)

Healthy baked snack with ~18g protein per serving. Indian falafel on a budget!

🥘 Ingredients

  • 1 cup Split moong dal (yellow lentils), soaked
  • 1 Small onion, chopped
  • 1 Green chili, chopped (optional)
  • 1 tsp Ginger, grated
  • 1 tsp Cumin powder
  • to taste Salt
  • handful Spinach or cilantro, chopped
  • 1 tbsp Oil (for brushing)

📝 Instructions

  1. Soak moong dal for 2 hours, then drain and blend into a coarse paste with onion, chili, ginger, cumin, and salt.
  2. Mix in chopped greens for extra nutrition.
  3. Shape into small balls or patties.
  4. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20 minutes, brushing with oil halfway, or shallow-fry for crispier results.
  5. Serve with chutney or as is.
